Mechanism of the reorientation of stripes in the cuprates

چکیده
Using the mean field theory in the slave-boson approach we analyzed the electron correlation effects in the stripe phases. One finds that a finite next-nearest neighbor hopping t plays an important role in the low doping regime, where it controls the crossover from the filled diagonal to half-filled vertical/horizontal stripes at doping x ≃ 1/16.

Metallic charge stripes in cuprates
Some recent evidence for the existence of dynamic, metallic stripes in the 214-family of cuprates is reviewed. The mechanism of stripe pinning is considered, and changes in the charge density within stripes between the pinned and dynamic phases is discussed. From a purely experimental perspective, dynamic charge stripes are fully compatible with nodal “quasiparticles” and other electronic prope...

The Feshbach shape resonances in the interband pairing in superconducting superlattices of quantum wells or quantum stripes is shown to provide the mechanism for high Tc superconductivity. This mechanism provides the Tc amplification driven by the architecture of material: superlattices of quantum wells (intercalated graphite or diborides) and superlattices of quantum stripes (doped high Tc c...
متن کاملWhy do stripes form in doped antiferromagnets and what is their relationship to superconductivity?
Experiments show evidence for stripe formation in the underdoped cuprates. Here we discuss recent numerical calculations on the t-J model which tell us about the mechanism responsible for stripe formation and the relationship between stripes and superconductivity. PACS Numbers: 74.20.Mn, 71.10.Fd, 71.10.Pm It is clear from a variety of experiments that stripes appear as important low-energy con...

Asymmetric features of various physical quantities in the normal and superconducting states between hole- and electron-doped cuprate high-temperature superconductors have been an issue of debate for a long time. Their exploration is very important for the understanding not only of the mechanism of high-Tc superconductivity but also of the nature of doped-Mott insulators. Presented in this rev...
متن کاملUnifieddescriptionof chargeandspinexcitationsof stripes in cuprates
We study stripes in cuprates within the one-band and the three-band Hubbard model. Magnetic and charge excitations are described within the time-dependent Gutzwiller approximation. A variety of experiments (charge profile from resonant soft X-ray scattering, incommensurability vs. doping, optical excitations, magnetic excitations, etc.) are described within the same approach.
